The Statue of Unity is a monument dedicated to Indian independence movement leader Vallabhbhai Patel[2] located in the Indian state of Gujarat. It is located facing the Narmada Dam, 3.2 km (2.0 mi) away on the river island called Sadhu Bet near Rajpipla in Gujarat. The monument along with its surroundings occupies over 20,000 square meters, and is surrounded by a 12 square km artificial lake.[3] It is the world's tallest statue with the height of 182 metres (597 ft).[4] Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Rashtriya Ekta Trust (SVPRET), a special purpose vehicle was established by the Government of Gujarat for its construction and the outreach programme was carried out across India starting December 2013.[5]
Initially the total cost of the project was estimated to be about ₹3,001 crore (US$420 million) by the Government of India. Later Larsen & Toubro won the contract in October 2014 for its lowest bid of ₹2,989 crore (US$420 million) for the design, construction and maintenance. The construction was started on 31 October 2013[6][7] and completed in mid-October 2018. It will be inaugurated on 31 October 2018 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.[8]The monument statue represents Indian National Congress leader and the first Deputy prime minister of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel which is constructed facing the Narmada Dam, 3.2 km away on the river island called Sadhu Bet. The total height of the statue from its base will be 240 metre consisting base level of 58 metres and statue of 182 metres. It is constructed with steel framing, reinforced cement concrete and bronze cladding.[1] The statue needed 75000 cubic metres of concrete, 5700 metric tonne steel structure, 18500 tonne reinforced steel rods, 22500 tonne bronze sheets for construction.[7] In the first phase, a bridge connecting the memorial to the main land, a memorial, visitor centre buildings, a memorial garden, a hotel, a convention centre, an amusement park, research centres and institutes is being constructed.

The Statue of Unity is designed as a naturalistic and historically accurate representation of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, wearing characteristic garments, in a walking stance. Some highlights of this project:Bronze cladding on the Statue.
Fast elevators to reduce transit time for visitors.
The three-level base of the Statue - exhibit floor, mezzanine and roof - will contain a Memorial Garden and a large continuous museum/exhibition hall, comprising exhibits that focus on the life and contributions of Vallabhbhai Patel.
The observation deck, situated at a height of around 500 ft from river bed, will accommodate up to 200 people at a time. It will provide visitors a panoramic view, enabling them to see the beautiful Satpura and Vindhyachal mountain ranges, the 212 km long Sardar Sarovar Reservoir, and the 12 km long Garudeshwar Reservoir. For the comfort of the visitors against high wind forces, a 400-ton Tuned Mass Damper system has been provided above the observation deck.

A large modern canopied public plaza, overlooking the Narmada River and the Statue, comprising food stalls, ornate gift shops, retail kiosks and other amenities, that will provide visitors a well-rounded tourist experience.[4]

The statue was built on a PPP model, with most of the money raised by the Government of Gujarat.[20]
The Government of Gujarat had allotted ₹100 crore for the project in the budget for 2012-13[21] and ₹500 crore in 2014-15.[22] In the 2014-15 Union Budget, ₹2 billion (US$28 million) were allocated for the construction of the statue.

As of 2017, most newspapers are now published online as well as in print. The online versions are called online newspapers or news websites.

• Along with Nafed, the Food Civil Supplies Corporation will be purchased as a nodal agency

Agriculture Minister RC Faldu and Food Minister Shri Jayeshbhai Radadiya said that the country's Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has decided to double the income of farmers till 2022. According to which, the purchase of crop at the support price is also done for the farmers to get reasonable prices of the crop, as part of which is expected to produce about 26.92 lakh metric tonnes of groundnut in Gujarat, the purchase of this groundnut support will be started from 15th November 2018 on 122 centers in the state. The purchase process will be conducted.
Ministers said that Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Nitinbhai Patel have organized a special time focusing specifically on the purchase of groundnut farmers of the state for transparency at the cost of support. Along with Nafed of the Central Government, the Food Civil Supplies Corporation will be purchased as a nodal agency. The Government of India has declared the support price for groundnut upto Rs.4890 per quintal and the state government has declared Rs.110 per quintal bonus. The purchase price of peanut will be purchased by the Government of India from farmers Rs. 4890 per quintal plus a total of Rs.110 per quintal state government bonus including Rs.5000 per quintal. Government of India's umbrella scheme, under the scheme of support for the PM-Asha, will purchase state government's Nodal agency, Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation on behalf of Nafed, on the basis of support from the farmers of the state.
They added that they will be registered online for farmers for purchase at support price from 01/11/2018 to 30/11/2018. Farmers can be registered at the purchase centers and at village level at the E-village center. If the farmers are not enrolled in registration 7-12, 8-a copy, in the form no. 12 in case of crop sowing, then the case with the signature of the Talati on crop sowing will be given to the base card copy / basis registration number and proof of bank account details including IFSC. Passbook copy or canceled check must be submitted. Based on the number of registered farmers on the portal 7/12 or in the certificates of talati, the cultivation of groundnut and land holders will be decided on basis of the quality of groundnut (FAQ) groundnut depending on the average productivity of the state.

He said that the State Government will start the purchase of groundnut from 122 procurement centers by the Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation. All the shopping centers will be started at APMC. During the purchase process, the facility of CCTV cameras will be held at the Purchase Center and its footage will be stored. Video recording process will be recorded every day at the Purchase Center. For every day surveillance at the purchasing center, the squad will be constituted under the leadership of Deputy Collector Collector of Class-I and will be reviewed at the center of the purchase center.
It is to be mentioned here that the total area under groundnut area is cultivated in 14.68 lakh hectare which is expected to be 26.95 lakh metric tonnes. Thus, the average production capacity of hectare is estimated at 1836 kilo. Farmers are expected to get affordable prices by purchasing at the price of groundnut support. In the purchase center, more than 1750 kg of groundnut will be purchased in one day and farmers will be purchased at a maximum price of 2 hectare per millimeter. .

Gandhi led Indians in challenging the British-imposed salt tax with the 400 km (250 mi) Dandi Salt March in 1930, and later in calling for the British to Quit India in 1942. He was imprisoned for many years, upon many occasions, in both South Africa and India. He lived modestly in a self-sufficient residential community and wore the traditional Indian dhoti and shawl, woven with yarn hand-spun on a charkha. He ate simple vegetarian food, and also undertook long fasts as a means of both self-purification and political protest.

Gandhi's vision of an independent India based on religious pluralism, however, was challenged in the early 1940s by a new Muslim nationalism which was demanding a separate Muslim homeland carved out of India. Eventually, in August 1947, Britain granted independence, but the British Indian Empire[ was partitioned into two dominions, a Hindu-majority India and Muslim-majority Pakistan. As many displaced Hindus, Muslims, and Sikhs made their way to their new lands, religious violence broke out, especially in the Punjab and Bengal. Eschewing the official celebration of independence in Delhi, Gandhi visited the affected areas, attempting to provide solace. In the months following, he undertook several fasts unto death to stop religious violence. The last of these, undertaken on 12 January 1948 when he was 78, also had the indirect goal of pressuring India to pay out some cash assets owed to Pakistan. Some Indians thought Gandhi was too accommodating. Among them was Nathuram Godse, a Hindu extremist who assassinated Gandhi on 30 January 1948 by firing three bullets into his chest.Captured along with many of his co-conspirators and collaborators, Godse and his co-conspirator Narayan Apte were tried, convicted and executed while many of their other accomplices were given prison sentences.

The chief electoral officer (CEO) in the state will launch a SMS-based query resolution system on September 2, for voters who want to know their polling booth or contact details of the booth-level officers. However, to avail this facility the voter must register his/her name in the voters list, if it is missing at present or change details in the electoral rolls from September 1.

Anita Karwal, CEO of Gujarat state said, “We will be publishing the final electoral roll on August 31. From September 1, we will have a continuous revision drive of electoral roll, which will continue till the last date of nominations for the assembly election,” she said, adding that another supplementary roll will be published later.

“We will also be starting SMS query-based system. Voters will need to send SMS with their EPIC (Election Photo Identity Card) number to 9227500958 to know about their polling station and details of Booth Level Officer (BLO). For instance, to know polling station they will need to type EPIC followed by a space and their EPIC number. To know about their BLO, they will need to type BLO followed by a space and their EPIC number. In 30 seconds, they will get SMS from the CEO providing them the information.”

Apart from this, CEO has set up a district-wise helpline for voters. “We have one state level helpline number, 1950, from where voters come to know about their polling stations and other information related to voting. Apart from this, we have also started a district-wise helpline. These helplines are functional between 10 am to 6 pm on all working days, but during election time, it will also be functional in shifts,” Karwal informed.

Read the steps given below to apply for a Voter ID online in Gujarat:

Visit the website of Chief Electoral Officer of Gujarat. Select “Online Voter Registration” option that is available in the homepage.

As no person is entitled to be registered in the electoral roll of more than one constituency, you must check if your name is in the electoral roll before making a fresh application.

If you select the option to check if your name is present in the electoral roll, you will have to give information like your district name, name, father or husband’s name and age.

If your name is not present in the electoral list, you must make a fresh application. Initially, you will have to register in the portal by providing your name, email id, phone number, address and pincode.

Once you have registered and logged in, select “Form 6 for new Voter Registration” in the page that is being displayed. You will have to enter the EPIC (Electoral Photo Identity Card) number of your family member or neighbourhood.

Form 6 for registration of your name in the Voter ID will be displayed on the screen. You will have to enter information like your name, address, date of birth and details of other family members whose name has been enrolled in the electoral list.

After you submit the form, you will also have the option to upload documents like address proof and age proof. You will receive a copy of the pdf file which you have to save and take a print out.

You must submit the copy of printout in the nearest Election Commission office by post. After verification, the new Voter ID will be sent to you by post to your registered address.

Reduce jpg size to desired KB or % or optimize. Its an image converter too.

A JPEG/JPG size reducer, optimiser and image converter with lots of formats support. Reduces JPEG image size without changing resolution. Please read warnings & important points before using app. Save space by reducing image file sizes. It can also be called photo compressor, photo size reducer, photo space saver etc.
Some use cases -
- You clicked a selfie and now want to share it with friends but want to reduce size of image to your desired KBs. Example reduce JPG of 1MB to 200KB.
- Want to reduce image to desired percent size of original. Example reduce 1MB JPG to 20% of its size.
- You don't know much technical details just want to reduce size? Use this app to reduce size without messing with image resolution.
- You captured screenshot but its size is high. Share that screenshot and select this app to build jpg with further size reduction.
- Reduce sizes of many images in bulk or batch.
- Select images which are of less priority and reduce their sizes. If satisfied delete original files and keep converted ones.
- Optimise JPG. Reduce some size without loosing any quality. Smaller size reduction.
- Convert images to most common formats. Convert images even in bulk or batch.
IMPORTANT POINTS, WARNINGS
- I have intentionally not implemented delete original images in bulk or replace by new images. My purpose is to build small size versions & converted files only. Please delete original files yourself. Many times there are complaint of data loss and i don't want to be part of it. Set your custom output directory and convert, compress images to that location. Better is to keep default path.
- To pick images use a gallery app like QuickPic. Because some gallery apps do not return absolute image path. Always use a gallery app from which returned image is successfully loaded.
- Always reduce up to 20% or above otherwise quality loss is clearly noticeable.
- By default images are not added into gallery to prevent multiple copies which creates confusion when you see them in gallery!. They are saved in /app_data/ImageSizeReducer folder. You must use a FileManager & find all files here.
- Change output directory to your custom location then new images can be added into gallery!.
- From Marshmallow external storage needs runtime permission. If permission not grated app will not work.
- Do not keep input folder = Output folder. Doing this overwrites original images. NEVER DO IT!. Better is to keep default output folder i.e. app_data/ImageSizeReducer
- Keep the app running until images are processed. If home button is pressed get back to app using recent apps list. Pressing icon from launcher will start new copy of app not old. This is done to do multiple tasks.

- Converts lots of image formats to jpg, webp, tiff, bmp, gif, png. It is powered by ImageMagick ( ImageMagick is product and copyright of ImageMagick Studio LLC ).
